Key Accountabilities
- Define, validate, verify, evaluate, and certify the human factors aspects of the aircraft.
- Human factors aspects are regarding each user (pilot, passenger, maintainer, other (e.g., fueler)) interaction with the aircraft (flight deck, cabin, baggage compartment, other interior areas (e.g., for APU), exterior (controls, access panels and ports, exterior markings)).
- Human factors aspects include, but are not limited to: user anthropometrics, location and design of systems and equipment users interact with, ingress and egress, reach, visibility, user strength, comfort, workload, human error, FHA validation, and maintenance accessibility.
- Human factors aspects are defined and evaluated using the following techniques and platforms.
- Design definition using hand sketches, PowerPoint, or other software. Works with CAD modelers to implement.
- Analyses (task analyses, human error analyses).
- Desktop reviews / interviews with users.
- CAD evaluations (e.g., manikin reach and vision).
- Virtual / Mixed Reality, Mockup, Simulator, Aircraft.
- Define requirements related to human factors aspects.
- Support the following: Human Factors Certification Plan, compliance documents (e.g., IPs / CRIs, analyses, test plans, test conduct, test reports), interaction with regulatory authorities, and relevant industry committees.
- Support multi-disciplinary review meetings to discuss human factors aspects of the aircraft.
- Support updating a Human Factors Resource Loaded Plan (e.g., tasks, begin / finish dates, hours) that is integrated in the overall product plan.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- A degree in human factors or related field, or combination of a degree in engineering and experience in human factors.
- Experience in human factors related to civil aircraft. Strong applicants are encouraged to apply that have experience in human factors related to military aircraft or automotive.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
We are looking for someone with the experience listed below, not all are required. Applicants that are motivated to learn are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with human factors design definition, analysis, evaluation, and certification.
- Experience with user interface software such as InVision, Illustrator, or similar.
- Experience with modeling software such as CATIA Human Builder, RAMSIS, or similar.
- Experience with test plans, test conduct, test reports using virtual/mixed reality, mockup, simulator, aircraft.
- Experience with statistical analyses software such as SPSS, R, or similar.
- Experience with requirements management software such as DOORS or similar.
Working Conditions
- Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
- Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
- Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
- Effectively communicate in Business English language.
- Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
- Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
