Job Purpose

Please note: This is a 2nd shift role with hours from 4:00pm to 1:00am.

 

Applications Engineer to be the familiar with all application equipment, they will assist all aspects of the equipment including operation, maintenance, programming, and troubleshooting of robots and fluid systems in a paint and plastics department. Knowledge of how to troubleshoot, maintain, operate, and sustain paint / plastics applications equipment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop capability of self, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in the area of technical understanding for equipment
  • Review daily reports and genba to identify potential countermeasure and/or root cause analysis and follow through until completion. 
  • Evaluate opportunities for continuous improvement of equipment efficiency, reliability, and quality.
  • Utilize problem management skills and technical knowledge to effectively support internal equipment improvement projects and PDCA of results.
  • Become a key contributor by researching and understanding current paint applications conditions in order to drive continuous process improvements.
  • Lead and/or actively participate in department initiatives such as business plan, FSI (loss elimination), and Monozukuri, etc, to gain or share knowledge, promote continuous improvement and foster engagement
  • Report, develop and implement New Model programming to achieve model and department targets
  • Heavy manufacturing-Gemba
  • Standing extended periods
  • ESRWP
  • Direct interaction with automation
  • Non-production work (weekends/off shift/shutdowns)
  • Travel for training/NM activity/Equipment Run offs
     

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • AS/BS ENG or Equivalent Experience
  • 0-6 years based on education
  • Heavy robotics experience, CATIA, PC Skills, Fanuc vision systems (2D and 3D), PLC, effective communication
