Our client is a law office seeking an experienced legal secretary to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal field, proficiency in document preparation and great relationship skills which will align successfully in the organization.

 

Job Title: Secretary-Legal

What’s the Job?

As an Experienced Legal Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting attorneys by managing administrative tasks, ensuring the timely preparation and filing of legal documents, and fostering excellent client relationships. Your ability to multitask and maintain a high level of confidentiality will be essential in this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents such as correspondence, briefs, motions, and pleadings.
  • Manage e-filing of legal documents with the court and other regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain and organize legal files, both physical and digital, ensuring that all documents are up to date and accessible.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring professional and responsive communication.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and hearings.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of case files, timelines, and evidence.
  • Prepare billing statements and assist in timekeeping for attorneys.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed, including managing office supplies and resources.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Proficient in legal document preparation, e-filing systems, and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, case management software).
  • Strong client relationship skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and filing practices is a plus.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
