Job Summary
The Home and Community Bases Services Aide is a person who provides support, assistance with personal hygiene and household functions for an individual to be able to remain in their own home.
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities
- May provide or assist clients with activities of daily living including bathing in bed, tub or shower; care of hair including shampoo, combing and brushing; care of teeth and mouth including denture care; nail care, filing only; skin care including peri care and applying lotion; transfer of patient from bed to chair and to wheelchair. Transfer of patients on and off bedpan, commode and toilet.Â
- Reports observations of the client's condition to the agency director or accounts managerÂ
- Drives safely, complies with traffic regulations, and wears a seat belt when business travel is required.Â
- Assists with household tasks directly essential to clients' personal care.Â
Experience Desired
- Six months experience in personal care or home community-based services preferred.Â
License Requirements
- Current driver's license, vehicle insurance and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
- Active CT CNA or HHA Certification. Â (Must have completed a training program approved by the state of Connecticut of not less than 75 hours.)
Skill / Availability Requirements
- Willingness to work flexible schedules based on patient and agency needs.
- Ability to function competently and professionally in any home situation regardless of protected status including but not limited to age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the patient.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good communication, writing, and organizational skills
