Job Description
Boeing Global Services is currently seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer (Mid-Level & Lead) to become part of the F/A-18 Structural Analysis team in Hazelwood, MO.
The BGS F/A-18 Structural Analysis team is responsible for supporting new source stand up, modifications, repairs and spares production support of the F/A-18 Legacy Hornet and Super Hornet, as well as ensuring the structural integrity of the components. Other platforms supported within our team are F-15, T-45 and AV-8B.
The selected candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, diverse work environment. Team members will work with cross-functional teams including representatives from Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Liaison Engineering, Technical Integration, Supplier Management, Production Operations, and Program Management. The candidate must be able to provide technical direction to teammates on structural analysis and effectively communicate with cross functional team members.
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct stress analyses of aircraft primary structures using well defined analysis tools
- Verification of structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop and maintain the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
- Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
- Development of test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyses/reports to validate systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Support Configuration Control Board and Engineering Review Board as a Strength Engineering Lead
- Provide leadership, and technical oversight to other Structural Analysis Engineers.
- Support on-going supplier and customer activities providing real-time support.
- Works under minimal direction.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- 3+ years’ experience with finite element modeling structural analysis methods and tools
- 3+ years’ experience in structural analysis Â
- Experience independently constructing, executing, reviewing, and managing structural finite element models using NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct, Mechanica, etc.
- Experience in role that required leadership in structural analysis
- Knowledge of structural design principles for aircraft primary structure (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
- Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.) (Level 4) Â
- Experience with composites design and analysis methodologies.
- Experience in post-production systems with emphasis in military aircraft sustainment, repairs, and modification programs.
- Experience with analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance
- F/A-18 experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Â
Summary Pay Range Mid-Level (Level 3): $95,200- $128,800
Summary Pay Range Lead (Level 4): $115,600- $156,400
