Boeing Phantom Works has an immediate need for an Experienced Environmental Control Systems (ECS) Engineer to join our team in Hazelwood, MO. Successful candidates will participate in the design and development of Environmental Control Systems and coordinate product requirements with other engineering functions, production operations, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.  Successful candidates will also work with the aerospace component supply base, managing supplier technical activities, from initial design through qualification.”

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design

  • Works closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment to develop interface definitions and system/subsystem requirements

  • Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals

  • Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

  • Performs trade studies, design reviews, analyses, simulations and component/system testing to ensure delivery of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations

  • Collaborates with other technical and non-technical disciplines to support Program execution

  • Prepares technical documents for presentations and customer reviews/proposals

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or Internationally depending on business needs.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of working experience with a Bachelor’s OR 3+ years with a Masters OR a PhD

  • Experience in systems design and/or systems analysis and/or systems integration

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
