The Staff Pad is honored to partner with a non-profit healthcare system in Helena, Montana with superior care and a hometown commitment to be the gold standard for health care in Montana. The Mental Health Technician performs selected patient care activities. The Mental Health Technician is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and provides support for the patient’s therapeutic treatment plan. Primary responsibilities include observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan and reporting this information to the Staff Registered Nurse. Must be capable of physically assisting patients, dealing with patient emergencies, and working as a member of a clinical team.  KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:  1 year experience in behavioral health unit preferred. Knowledge of safety measures. EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or GED preferred.  LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY:  CNA preferred; if no certificate at time of hire, must have CNA certification within 1 year of date of hire. Medical terminology and current BLS Certification are required. CPI/PART as required by state. Aptitudes:  Ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers.  Possesses interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations.  Open to feedback and open to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.  Able to read and write in order to complete medical reports and basic arithmetic is required.
