We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Infrastructure Manager to assist in overseeing a diverse group of 90+ technical professionals responsible for maintaining and advancing our organization's technological backbone. The candidate will bring a proven track record of leadership in complex technical environments and excel at coordinating multiple workstreams across various specializations.
Responsibilities include leading and managing a large, multi-disciplined Infrastructure Team consisting of: Network Engineers, System Administrators, Computer Architects, Cyber Engineers, Software Release/Configuration Management Specialists, Automation Experts, DevSecOps Engineers, Facilities Operations Staff, Help Desk Technicians and Virtualization Engineers.

The deputy lead will also assist in the development and execution of comprehensive project plans, ensure seamless integration of schedules across multiple teams, provide regular status updates and briefings to stakeholders at all levels, establish and maintain team priorities to meet organizational objectives and foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assists Infrastructure Manager in their direction of all phases of tasking from inception through completion and responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of the 90+ person Infrastructure team
  • Prioritizes tasking and work across the teams various projects and functions
  • Serves as the Customer POC for Infrastructure Sub-IPT activities to include leading review sessions with internal and external Customers
  • Coordinates milestones and monitors master plans and schedules; identifies and adjudicates issues and concerns, recommending solutions such as the allocation of resources or changes to requirements
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and career development to the staff
  • Oversees a distributed computer facility requiring working knowledge and experience with O&M project management, Development Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Agile execution, CM Processes and procedures and ability to work with various program segments from inception through completion
  • May participate in writing proposal TD/BOEs, creation of a Bill of Materials (BOMs), negotiations of contract and contract changes/ECPs as part of the Infrastructure Sub-IPT team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant program, operations or leadership experience, or a Master's degree with 8 years of stated experience, or a PhD with 5 years of stated experience
  • Active TS/SCI required at time of application
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative management style, and a focused drive to deliver on commitments
  • Direct experience and established relationships with relevant customers and stakeholders
  • Experience leading IT, systems engineering, and/or operations teams
  • Proven ability to effectively work across multiple contractor and customer organizations to form engaged teams, make decisions, and execute against challenging objectives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous CAM experience
  • Ability to manage cost and schedule consistent with program budgets and established priorities
  • Ability to use EVMS to manage cost, schedule, and performance
  • Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps processes/tools and virtualized, cloud-based architectures
  • Operational site experience
Salary Range: $180,600 - $271,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
