Northrop Grumman’s SSSD has an opening for an Associate Systems Engineer/Systems Engineer – Fault Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA and can be filled at either Level 1 Associate Systems Engineer or Level 2 Systems Engineer.

*This position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining final clearances, capturing program award(s), and obtaining and maintaining associated business and/or customer funding prior to start date.

The candidate must have demonstrated experience in definition, specification, application, and test of Automated Fault Management architecture, and experience in AFM test planning and execution is required. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Support Autonomy and Fault Management (AFM) development

-Support Fault and Autonomy onboard response development

-Support development of payload fault management architecture

-Support fault tree and control flow analysis to identify known systems faults in order to provide mitigation techniques

-Support development and execution of verification and validation tests to be used on software simulators, test beds and to sell-off fault management requirements.

Basic Qualifications for Level 1 Associate Systems Engineer:

-Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

-Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance prior to start date

-Minimal Experience with Autonomy and Fault Management

-General System Engineering, Flight Software, or Flight Operations/Anomaly Resolution experience

Basic Qualifications for Level 2 Systems Engineer:

-Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 2+ years of engineering experience OR

-Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

-Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance prior to start date

-Experience with System Engineering Autonomy and Fault Management architecture, design, and OPSCON or Flight Software-related Launch & Operations experience with Anomaly Resolution/Recovery background

Preferred Qualifications:

-Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

-Active US Government DoD Top Secret clearance and/or active SCI access at time of application

Salary Range: $74,000 - $111,000
Salary Range 2: $89,400 - $134,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
