This role is 2 parts: approximately15% functional management role and approximately 85% direct charge program role. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) THE FOLLOWING: Lead a section of systems engineers (15-20 personnel) Instruct, mentor and champion agile concepts and processes Be responsible for hiring, development, training, and retention of section talent. Hiring will include university and experienced hiring. Provide leadership and direction to team members and manage employee performance (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers) Responsible for day-to-day operation of the organization including employee movement and balancing of resources among programs, and resolving critical/urgent program/technical issues. Promote the professional development of the Systems Engineering team and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.
