The Space Systems Engineering Assistant Section Manager is a dual-hat Engineering Manager responsible for both section management (up to 15% of time) and existing program responsibilities (85% or more of time). Along with reporting into a program, the Assistant Section Manager is also a member of the Space Systems Engineering functional management organization. The Assistant Section Manager shall be the functional management point of contact at the work site for the Space Systems Integration Department and will support and implement activities supporting Space Systems initiatives, reporting directly to the Space Systems Integration Department Manager. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA and is a fully onsite role. *This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future. Role and Responsibilities -Ensuring members have sufficient statement of work, balancing resources among programs, and verifying proper charging practices are followed, including time-card approval -Managing member performance, creating and delivering performance evaluations, overseeing the salary review process, and supervising employee development and mentoring efforts (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers) -Coordinating with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/destaffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and managing employee movement between programs -Program review and proposal support of Space Systems Integration-related SOW -Meeting indirect budget targets and interpreting higher level guidance for implementation within the organization for process implementation and improvement.
