2nd Shift General Labor

Pay: $22.00 per hour plus Shift Differential: $1.00 per hour

Shift & Working Hours: Monday-Friday; 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Weekends/Overtime as needed.

In this role, you’ll be a key member of our Land O’Lakes, Inc. warehousing team, performing front-line processes that ensure successful delivery of final products. You’ll gain skills and experience in warehouse operations including coordinating inbound/outbound deliveries, packing/loading final products using a forklift, assisting with cycle counts, and organizing areas of the warehouse. You’ll operate daily on a forklift and use other plant machinery and equipment as needed.  Join our team to become part of a member-owned co-op that is Rooted in Tomorrow.

General Labor is the front-line employee who performs the manufacturing processes that add value and quality to the inputs and create the final high-quality final products. There are a variety of sub-classifications within the Operator job family that could range in specific duties from receiving and handling the raw materials, adding value through a variety of proprietary processes, to packaging the final product. In all stages of production safety, attention to detail, a quality and sanitation focus, and efficiency are key to the success of the operation.

This role is part of our Dairy Food business who creates dairy products that stand for real, simple goodness.   We believe there’s power in every drop of milk our farmers produce, and by improving production and finding innovative uses for that milk, we add a little good to people’s lives.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complies with all safety processes and insists on safety practices of self and others

  • Shows up on time, completes tasks by deadlines, and adapts to changes quickly

  • Processes work orders by selecting correct products from racks, palletizing them, shrink-wrapping, and staging the product order for delivery

  • Able to multi-task and keep up with warehousing demands in a fast-paced environment

  • Ensures all standard operating procedures are followed

  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area

  • Successful forklift certification required

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • 6+ months of work experience in any industry

  • Basic computer and math skills

  • Able to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions

  • Willingness to learn new skills, problem-solve and troubleshoot

  • Strong collaboration, communication skills, and is always respectful

Preferred Experience:

  • 1+ year of warehousing work experience

  • Forklift experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift/carry up to 60 pounds

  • Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements

  • Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment

  • Working in temperature zones that include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include areas where dust and chemicals are present

  • Required to work scheduled shift which may include weekends, some holidays, and periodic overtime
