Job Summary:

This jobs primary focus is to provide high quality clinical supervision, for pre-masters and pre-doctorate practicum students, post-masters associate-level and licensed providers in the Integrated Behavioral Health department. Will be involved in hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluation and disciplinary process. Supervision will be individual and group supervision as needed for purposes of meeting school program requirements, state licensing Boards requirements and KP clinic needs. Supervision will include communicating and partnering with academic program/school field liaisons; reviewing and providing feedback on clinical assessment, interventions, and documentation; overseeing professional standards and providing feedback, training, and supervision in evidence-based practices (EBPs) including measurement-based care, feedback informed care and other EBPs per regional guidance. Responsible for clinical program design and implementation with supervisees.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides individual and/or group supervision for students, post masters associates and licensed therapists in accordance to school program requirements, state licensing boards requirements and KPs clinical needs. This includes but are not limited to clinical documentation, diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis response protocols and Kaiser Permanentes clinical workflows.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, orienting, coaching, and following disciplinary procedure for interns, students, residents/associates, and licensed therapists. Conducts timely and thorough performance evaluation of supervisees. Provides training and supervision in key treatment modalities and EBPs covering individual, family, couples, and group therapy.
  • In concert with other personnel and physicians, responds to and resolves service, access, quality, and provider concerns/issues related to supervisees. Develops and maintains departmental policies and procedures to meet organizational, operational, business, and strategic goals/objectives as related to supervisees. Partners with school program field liaison to complete all necessary paperwork and other requirements related to field placements.
  • Uses outcome measures to train, coach, and mentor supervisees in the provision of high-quality clinical outcomes for patients. Performs clinical program design and implementation as related to supervisees and overall regional and local clinic needs across the Behavioral Health and/or Addiction Medicine continuum of care.
  • Collaborates with Regional Behavioral Health training program team for student/intern/associate placements. Works with Academic Liaisons at the medical center and regional level for timely onboarding of students and interns. Develops and implements policies, procedures, and systems to ensure member satisfaction and access.
  • Analyzes departmental volume/workload indicators and evaluates/improves utilization and productivity of supervisees. Assists with administration, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical social work programs and policies. Assists in establishing clinical best practices and guidelines for delivery of service to members served.
  • Prepares staff schedules. Conducts and participates in staff meetings clinical team meetings, departmental planning, and quality management activities. Collaborates and consults with physicians and other interdisciplinary clinical team members to support assessments and decision making. Reviews cases or quality assurance concerns with clinical team.
  • Provides direct patient care on an as needed basis that are within scope of license and in compliance with all legal, regulatory, and policy requirements relevant to clinical role performed. May perform patient care to the extent necessary to maintain clinical expertise, competency, and licensing necessary to fulfill job responsibilities and to direct the provision of care on the unit.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience


  • Minimum three (3) years of post-license, paid experience as a member of a psychiatric treatment team within the past 5 years.


Education


  • Masters degree in social work from an accredited college or university.


License, Certification, Registration


  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Hawaii)



  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association



  • National Provider Identifier required at hire



Additional Requirements:


  • Must meet qualifications to provide clinical supervision per applicable state board requirements and keep qualifications current per any updates needed or changes to Board supervision requirements.

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.

  • Demonstrated acumen using a feedback informed model of care with empathic patient engagement.

  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.

  • Knowledge of state regulations about supervision agreements, ethics, equity, including and diversity, patient treatment, patient rights, and confidentiality.

  • Completion of any State Board or Kaiser Permanente required supervision trainings.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of individual and/or group psychotherapeutic treatment modalities and techniques.

  • Interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in using the latest version of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

  • Successful completion of credentialing process upon hire.



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Supervisory/lead or program management experience.

  • Five (5) years of post-license, paid experience as a member of a psychiatric treatment team within the past 7 years.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in documentation according to national accreditation guidelines.
