USPI Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Greater Heights is seeking a motivated Operating Room Manager to join our team. We have 5 OR rooms and 3 Treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, GI, GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Urology. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.

 

Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required. 

 

Job Summary:   Responsible and accountable for coordinating and supervising the nursing care provided to patients having operative or other invasive procedures. Supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned: 

  1. Clinical resource for perioperative services staff members using evidence-based knowledge and prevailing standards.

 

  1. Evaluates current practice through quality and performance improvement measures.

 

  1. Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative team and other stakeholders.

 

  1. Coordinates, facilitates, and manages change within the health care organization.

 

  1. Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care.

 

  1. Use effective conflict resolution techniques.

 

  1. Operationally and fiscally manage the perioperative services department.

 

  1. Collect and analyze data that applies to perioperative services to facilitate collaboration and negotiation with stakeholders.

 

  1. Participate in interviews for staff selection.

 

  1. Assist in evaluating staff member performance.

 

  1. Serve as a role model of professional behavior. 

 

     13. Assess the political climate within the organization.

     14. Pursue professional growth and participate in a professional organization.

Required Skills:

Qualifications: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Currently licensed in the state.  CPR required, advanced life support certification required.  One-year experience required intra-operative setting.  Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities. Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
