Field Service Engineer  Job Summary

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to lead on-site technical services for solar inverters and battery energy storage systems. This role involves installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of power electronics. The Field Service Engineer will report to the Field Services Leader and play a key role in ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient service operations at customer sites.

Field Service Engineer Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site services and technical direction for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of power electronics, including solar inverters and battery energy storage systems.

  • Perform work on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, including:

  • Cable routing and terminations

  • Loop checks and instrument calibration

  • Safety and alarm system settings

  • Software installation and system configuration

  • System startup and testing

  • Direct and oversee skilled labor at customer sites, ensuring safe execution and adherence to quality standards, company procedures, and work instructions.

  • Maintain strong customer relationships by ensuring contract compliance and meeting expectations regarding safety, quality, and service delivery.

  • Lead operational processes related to safety, quality, scheduling, and cost management.

  • Communicate goals, deliverables, strategies, risks, and opportunities with internal stakeholders.

  • Uphold the company’s reputation and technology leadership in the market.

  • Foster a culture of excellence by promoting employee engagement and continuous improvement.

Field Service Engineer Preferred Position Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in power electronics field service, manufacturing, or testing.

  • Strong knowledge of solar, energy storage, and power electronics systems.

  • Proficient in English (both verbal and written).

  • Willingness to travel up to 70% (domestic and international).

  • Position is based in the USA.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Prior experience with Lean continuous improvement methodologies
