Hybrid Role: In-office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Work from home on Thursday and Friday.

The Paralegal is responsible for providing support for legal entity management in addition to providing legal advice/counsel in business-related areas, including corporate contracting and M&A. The Paralegal will work closely with the Assistant Corporate Secretary and Assistant General Counsel in preparing legal documents and other administrative duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and provide support for legal entity governance changes, working closely with Legal, Accounting and Tax
  • Draft correspondence, legal contracts, letters of agreement, and other legal documents
  • Perform simple legal research to assist the legal team to prepare accurate and timely reports, legal advice, case files, and other legal documents
  • Organize and oversee legal files and materials so that they are easily accessed and retrieved without compromising the confidentiality or privacy of the information they contain
  • Enhance the legal function through process automation and legal technology

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and / or Experience:

  • BA/BS or Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent field required.
  • Three or more years of experience in a law firm or corporate/business environment

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, detail oriented, experience in record keeping and management, aptitude to work collaboratively and the ability to handle and efficiently manage multiple time-sensitive projects, problem-solve, meet aggressive deadlines and work with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Data Management Systems
  • A strong client service focus
  • Sound legal drafting and editing skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships, both internally and externally, to quickly gain the confidence and respect of others by providing practical, timely and reliable assistance
