About The Position

We are seeking an experienced OB/GYN Physician for a 12-day locum tenens position at a hospital in Texas. This ongoing assignment involves covering 3-6 shifts per month of 24-hour on-call duty, with no clinic responsibilities. Starting 05/01/2025, the ideal candidate will be comfortable managing obstetric emergencies and performing approximately one delivery per day. The physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive obstetric care during on-call hours, including labor and delivery management, emergency C-sections, and handling any obstetric complications. This position requires an active Texas medical license and proficiency with Meditech EHR system. There is potential for extension beyond the initial 12-day period.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for obstetric emergencies 

• Manage labor and delivery cases, including high-risk pregnancies 

• Perform emergency C-sections when necessary 

• Handle obstetric complications and postpartum care 

• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals 

• Utilize Meditech EHR for patient documentation 

• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures 

• Maintain clear communication with patients and their families 

• Provide expert consultation on obstetric cases as needed 

• Stay current with the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynecology

Required Qualifications: 

• Board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN Physician 

• Active Texas state medical license 

• Experience in managing high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies 

• Comfort with performing emergency C-sections 

• Proficiency in Meditech EHR system 

• Willingness to work 24-hour on-call shifts
