SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:

The Market Finance Business Lead is responsible for overseeing the support provided to the Markets and the financial decisions performed by SBS and within Sysco policies and procedures.  This role partners with the SBS Service Delivery Leaders to ensure financial completeness and integrity of the balance sheet and P&Ls.  Monitoring and ensuring information is provided to Market CFO, OpCo CFO, SBS Accounting Team and Corporate in timely manner. He/she is responsible for providing direction and managing activities of Market Finance Business Partners (7-10 direct reports).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and direction to the Market Finance Business Partners (Market Controller team) and working closely with the Food Services CFO and Market CFOs to deliver Accounting Services.
  • Manages team of Market Business Partners and collaborates across SBS and Field Finance Leadership
  • Provides guidance and analysis to Market Business Partners and Accounting teams to ensure that Balance Sheet and P&L results are accurate and complete
  • Responsible for overseeing balance sheet management for all Sysco OpcCos and ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with Sysco policies and FAMM
  • Acts as the key point of contact for the Market CFOs to ensure balance sheet completion, integrity, and accuracy
  • Ensures Reconciliation Quality and approves high sensitivity reconciliations as needed.  Validates completeness and certifications can be completed with confidence by OpCo CFO’s
  • Works with SBS leadership and OpCo CFOs to escalate and resolve reconciliation issues as needed
  • Handles approvals of Exceptions in Adjusting Entries on bad debt, reserves, and inventory adjustments:
  • Reviews standard GL Reporting Analysis, including variance analysis, GL Reporting, and BPC

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors or higher equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management Accounting   


PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors or higher equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management Accounting   


REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ Years of Accounting and Finance
  • Experienced in Balance Sheet Management
  • Experience in Controllership Activities including views across General Ledger, Payables, Expenses, and Receivables
  • Leadership Experience in Leading Teams
  • Proficient in P&L Variance Analysis / Cost Management
