About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Cardiology Nurse Practitioner for a 36-day locum tenens position at a Hospital in Texas. This assignment begins on 07/01/2025 and requires flexibility to work various 13-hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with removals, chest tubes, and arterial lines. Daily responsibilities include chart reviews, rounds, participation in PAC (Heart Failure Transplant Team) rounds, and ACCU Team reports. The role involves managing patient care, including moving patients between units as needed. This position requires expertise in pediatric cardiology and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Manage patient transfers between units as required 

• Perform removals of chest tubes and arterial lines 

• Provide comprehensive care for pediatric cardiology patients 

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in patient care 

• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation 

• Ensure adherence to all hospital protocols and safety standards 

• Stay current with the latest developments in pediatric cardiology 

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed 

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Additional Information: 

• Texas Nurse Practitioner license required 

• Pediatric Cardiology certification preferred 

• Experience in high-acuity pediatric cardiology settings is essential 

• Comfort with various shift schedules, including nights and weekends 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

• Familiarity with Epic EHR system is advantageous
