Position Summary: The Senior Director of Total Rewards plays a key role in shaping the employee experience and driving organizational performance through effective compensation, benefits, and rewards strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a comprehensive total rewards strategy aligned with the organization's goals, culture, and budgetary constraints.
  • Analyze market trends, industry benchmarks, and best practices to ensure competitiveness and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Develop compensation and benefits plans that align with the organization’s goals, culture, and budgetary requirements. 
  • Analyze compensation and benefits programs on an on-going basis (including compensation programs at all levels) relative to market position, internal equity, and compliance and compensation philosophy. 
  • Prepare analyses, materials, and recommendations to senior leadership as requested.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, and equity-based compensation.
  • Conduct salary surveys and benchmarking to ensure competitive pay structures.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and other leadership to establish pay philosophies and guidelines that align with organizational goals and initiatives.  
  • Oversee the design, management, and administration of employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, 401k, wellness programs, leave administration, and other perks.
  • Evaluate benefit offerings to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and employee needs.
  • Manage relationships with benefit vendors and brokers.
  • Manage and oversee the Payroll Supervisor\payroll operations and staff.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
  • Review and approve payroll transactions, including payroll taxes and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on payroll-related matters.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports and metrics to ensure accuracy and identify trends.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, forecasting, and all other operations issues related to payroll.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to payroll and benefits.
  • Manage, inspire, and develop the Total Rewards team members towards operational excellence.
  • Instill and sustain a continuous improvement mentality with all team members.
  • Keep the Total Rewards team informed of any key business, legal, and staffing changes or initiatives.  
  • Communicate with the organization regarding changes or updates to organizations total rewards programs.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and partners.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in a total rewards function administering compensation and benefit programs.
  • Experience setting organization-wide strategy and driving operational execution/results in a mid-size to a large company.
  • Advanced knowledge of benefit and employment laws (ERISA, Section 125, FMLA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without “dropping the ball.”
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a “roll up your sleeves” and “win every day” mentality.
  • Hold oneself accountable and responsible while being self-driven in accomplishing goals.
  • Detail-oriented and can focus on the task at hand by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels to communicate with internal and external stakeholders articulately.
  • Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to provide timely and empathetic service through all communication channels keeping peer and customer needs first.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status). 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Certifications:

  • Professional certification such as FPC, CCP, PHR, and/or SHRM-CP.  

Travel Requirements:

  • No travel required. 

Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:

  • Additional hours may be required (exempt positions).  

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment. 
  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
