The Robotics & Automation Specialist is responsible for and assists in the implementation of projects within the Vikrell Operation, as well as troubleshooting and support of existing equipment, monitoring, and control systems and processes. Many projects involve PLC, operator interface, Fanuc Robot programming, data collection, and safety-related control systems.

  • Support daily robot programming, troubleshooting, and file backups of updated processes. This often requires a hands-on approach and involvement of production and maintenance personnel to arrive at the best solution.
  • PLC troubleshooting and fault logic programming, especially to support work involving monitoring and control software in the production areas.
  • Develop and maintain the operator and management graphic displays for production information, faults, and related data.
  • Help maintain proper documentation for PLC logic, Electrical and Control procedures and standards, operator interfaces, electrical drawings and monitoring, and control hardware and software.
  • Project management for implementation of Capital, process improvement, and equipment upgrades. This includes development concepts, proposals, timelines, budgets, and support documentation to secure project approval.
  • Work closely and coordinate with production, scheduling and purchasing all project-related support responsibilities and activities.
  • Attend technical seminars and training to learn and apply applicable innovative products and processes.

Skills/Requirements

  • Associate degree from a technical college or bachelor’s degree.
  • 2 or more years of work experience in an engineering environment with demonstrated results.
  • Fanuc robot experience is required.
  • Allen Bradley PLC experience is required.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience is required.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, 6pm-6am (3 days on, 3 days off).
  • Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $73,400 - $92,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
