Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Software Engineer or Software Engineer in the Pathways Program. This position will be located at our Huntsville, AL location.

This position will be in the Pathways rotational program where there will be three rotation opportunities within engineering.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Global Battle and Missions Readiness Division within the Defense Systems Sector.

These positions will be contingent upon contract award.

Roles and Responsibilities

-Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

-Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

-Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

-Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

•T01501: Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s) from an accredited institution.

•T01502: Be completing or has completed their degree from an accredited institution with a Bachelor’s and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree with 0 years’ experience

•Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications

•Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher

•Experience with JavaFX and/or Java

•Experience with C++

•Experience with GitLab or similar

•Experience with Test automation tools and procedures

•Experience with Scripting

•Experience with Linux

•Understanding of all phases of software development, and practical experience in an Agile/Dev*Ops environment

•Experience with Technical Writing

•Experience with Networking

•Experience with CISCO routers and switches

Salary Range 1: $ 68,800 - $ 103,200

Salary Range 2: $83,300 - $124,900

Salary Range: $68,800 - $124,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
