In this hybrid role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of working four days in school and one day from home. You can choose how you spend your four in-school days in either Sandusky or Independence, allowing you to find the perfect balance that suits your lifestyle and professional needs.

As an Intervention Specialist, you’ll be:  

  1. Empower Student Success: Support and enhance the educational and behavioral goals of all students, with a special focus on those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). 
  2. Lead with Expertise: Utilize the principles of behavior science to supervise and inspire staff, fostering a collaborative and effective team environment. 
  3. Daily Coordination: Ensure smooth daily operations by efficiently coordinating staff assignments. 
  4. Drive Accountability: Implement systems that ensure staff accountability and positive behavior management. 
  5. Professional Growth: Apply behavior science principles to support the continuous development of your team. 
  6. Stay Ahead: Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current with best practices. 
  7. Training Excellence: Provide comprehensive training to staff, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. 
  8. Mentorship: Coach and mentor staff to achieve their full potential. 
  9. Build Relationships: Establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with parents and external professionals. 
  10. Parent Partnership: Collaborate closely with parents to support student success. 
  11. District Collaboration: Work effectively with district representatives to ensure alignment and support.

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Special Education or a related field and P-3 Specialist License from an accredited university (throw your cap up!). 
  • An Intervention Specialist ready to shake things up and take the next big step in your career. 
  • An experienced professional with five or more years of teaching experience, excited to pursue your P-3 Certificate upon joining our team. 

Physical and Sensory Requirements  

  • Must possess the ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection and guidance of potentially physically aggressive students during crisis situations. 
  • Must possess the ability to react quickly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students that could be injurious to themselves or others, i.e. stop a child from running out of a building, physically redirect a child with severe behaviors, etc. 
  • Must be able to physically assist with evacuating students during emergency situations. 
  • Must earn and maintain full certification(s) in assigned crisis management programs
