Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Enterprise Credit group. We are looking for a Special Assets Officer to assist with the ongoing relationship management, monitoring, and resolution of delinquent and non-performing loans and account receivables for both CHS and CHS Capital (a wholly owned finance company). You must be organized, detail oriented and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with clients to reach meaningful solutions that are in compliance of all applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations along with CHS policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers, loan officers, legal counsel and business partners regarding workouts and/or liquidation of assets. Represent CHS and CHS Capital in court proceedings

• Develop, negotiate, and implement recovery or liquidation plans and strategies.

• Assist more junior members of the team on more complex activities.

 • Review customer submitted information for completeness and accuracy.

 • Analyze, summarize, and present borrower financial information in a concise credit package.

 • Evaluate collateral coverage including lien position.

 • Ensure compliance with credit policy and established guidelines.

• Approve credit exposures within delegated authorities.

• Communicate with loan officers, business partners, and loan documentation team on application, underwriting, and approval questions and status.

• Provide analytical support for loan amendments and modifications.

• Report on credit risks and market conditions impacting the portfolio of accounts.

• Help drive continued improvements to streamline processes.

• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

• Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 7+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting and/or Credit

Additional Qualifications

• Agricultural lending, finance or credit experience including loan workouts, asset liquidation, and mediation

• Proficient in MS Office suite

• Excellent critical thinking, financial analysis and decision making skills

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business partners, and build and maintain positive customer relationships

• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities to ensure excellent customer service

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
