The Sr. Private Platform Infrastructure Engineer (VP) role is one of the key roles that exist on the team. In this role, you will be part of the global Private Platform Services Engineering team responsible for end-to-end solutions engineering and certification for virtualization products supporting our internal private cloud. The position reports to the CTI Global Private Platform Services manager. The successful candidate will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualization private/hybrid platforms, with primary emphasis on VMware, VCF, Hypervisor, Nutanix, Containerization technologies and cloud-native solutions. Job Overview: The ideal candidate for Sr. Private Platform Infrastructure Engineer will have extensive hands-on experience in managing large-scale virtualization environments and cloud-native solutions. As a technical lead you will be responsible for a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition, and development of hardware, software, and network infrastructure in coordination with other Technology teams. The overall objective of this role is to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned frameworks. Responsibilities: Lead the engineering, proof of concept, deployment, and ongoing management of VMware, Nutanix, and Containerized environments. Design, certify, and implement highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions to support critical business applications. Ensure efficient resource utilization across virtual and cloud environments to meet performance, security, and availability requirements. Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline operations, reduce manual intervention, and improve infrastructure reliability. Utilize configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to automate the provisioning and management of virtual, cloud, and containerized environments. Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions to proactively detect and resolve issues across virtual, cloud, and container environments. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum performance. Regularly analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvements. Create and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams. Evaluate products, develop prototypes, contribute to design initiatives, and assist with implementation where required. Work with various cross functional infrastructure teams to identify and resolve problems. Consult with end users and clients to identify and correct systems problems or propose solutions. Assist in the development of software and systems tools used by integration teams to create end user packages. Adhere to Citi technology standards, audit requirements and corporate compliance issues and requirements. Apply knowledge of engineering procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other technical areas to day-to-day activities. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
