Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Inventory Valuation Accounting, will lead the charge in ensuring accurate inventory valuation and reporting across all business units. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity, supporting internal controls, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within our accounting processes. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence change in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Valuation Oversight: Manage inventory valuation accounting across all business units, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.

General Ledger Procedures: Lead month-end close activities, including reserves, journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and internal reporting.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary contact for internal customers, addressing inquiries related to inventory valuation, purchase price variance (PPV) adjustments, and P&L impacts.

Compliance and Controls: Support compliance with external auditors, internal SOX requirements, and internal audit standards. Oversee the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy, driving projects to improve accounting processes and systems.

Team Leadership: Provide oversight for virtual teams managing inventory valuation and PPV tracking. Support and mentor team members to achieve deliverables.

Analytical Reporting: Leverage tools like Power BI and Tableau to create insightful financial reports and analyses to support strategic decision-making.

Ad Hoc Initiatives: Execute additional projects and analyses, contributing to cross-functional success and alignment with business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred but not required.

Experience:

8+ years of accounting/finance experience, with 5+ years in inventory accounting.

Industry experience highly desired.

Proven track record of managing month-end close processes and general ledger procedures.

Technical Skills:

High level of Proficiency in SAP

Experience with analytics tools like Power BI or Tableau.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Ability to influence multi-level stakeholders, from operational teams to executive leadership.

A team player with a solution-oriented mindset.

Ability to communicate with Executive-level leaders.
