The Senior Network Engineer is a senior level position responsible for leading a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned framework. Key Responsibilities: Engineer/implement and support the Mainframe network software and hardware for zOS / zVM platforms. Configuration and administration of IBM z/OS mainframe network communications software (VTAM/TCPIP). Install, configure and support network related 3rd party system software for 3270 emulation HOD/PCOMM, file transfer products ConnectDirect/FTPS/Sftp/TDAccess, session managers Supersession/TPX. Engineer / implement and support encryption requirements for the various products/protocols supported on the zOS platform both internally and for external teams to mitigate compliant risks. Provision of Level 3 technical support for all Mainframe Networking issues for the supported software and hardware and z/OS & zVM platforms. Management of digital certificates for internal MSPKI, external DigiCert as well as vendor provided certificates. Monitor the performance of mainframe networking components, analyze issues and drive remedial action. Collaborate with vendors on network engineering work efforts, stability improvements and vulnerability mitigations. Configure and support Brocade switch network for data replication between datacenters. Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant experience in zOS Platform Network Engineering. Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication. Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices. Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills. Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams. Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative. Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements. Proven track record of operational process changes and improvement. Education: Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
