Job Description

  • Work closely with Fixed Asset team to manage the company’s fixed asset tax reporting and ensure accurate and timely depreciation reports
  • Work with SAP team to update system for changes in tax law and test updates
  • Review CARs for 39 year property additions & conduct interviews with BU team as needed for QIP analysis
  • Prepare workpapers and load all federal tax depreciation adjustments into Corptax
  • Prepare tax depreciation schedules for JV entities (from Peoplesoft)
  • Calculate tax gain/loss on fixed asset disposals
  • Review fixed asset deferred proofs
  • Automate the fixed assets process for new additions and roll into our existing process
  • Implement Alteryx workflows to generate Corptax import files from source depreciation reports
  • Streamline existing Alteryx workflows used for fixed assets
  • Prepare state depreciation adjustment workpapers and load adjustment into Corptax
  • Organize support from the various ERP systems to compute fixed asset apportionment
  • Support federal/state/property/sales tax audit requests for fixed assets/depreciation information
  • Create job aids to document the process of collecting the various data needed and computing various tax depreciation adjustments
  • Keep the team informed of changes in tax law relating to fixed assets/depreciation
  • Collaborating with a sales tax reporting team member concerning use tax accruals on fixed asset purchases; also shepherding the use tax accrual entry through accounting
  • Collaborating with the property tax team in reconciling the fixed assets to the G/L prior to tax rendition season

Minimum Requirements 

  • 7+ years relevant tax experience in public accounting or industry

Critical Skills

  • Proficiency working with common accounting and income tax software, CorpTax expertise preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance processes, including consolidations, elections and disclosures.
  • Working tax accounting knowledge is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Additional Knowledge & Skills 

  • Strong accounting, analytical, research, and time management skills required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills required. 
  • Strong desire to collaborate and work as a team

Education 

  • 4-year degree in accounting or related field required.
  • MBA or MST preferred. 

Certifications/Licensure 

  • CPA preferred

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$105,800 - $176,400
