R&D  Process Technician

As an R&D Process Technician, you operate equipment to develop and test plastic containers & related tooling. Our R&D Center in Jackson Center, Oh leads product development of containers for top consumer brands. We’re also proud to be recognized as an America’s Safest Companies by EHS Today.  In this role, you will contribute to Plastipak’s high quality standards and positive team culture.

  • Consistent Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4pm, occasional OT

You Will

  • Performs & Monitors necessary setting adjustments such as parison programming, heat controls, cooling water temperatures, pressures and functioning of extruder and hydraulic pumping units.
  • Performs quality control checks and helps maintain customer requirements according to specification in bottle weights and various dimensions such as wall thickness, flash, plastic distribution, concavity, convexity or crooked sections.  Makes adjustments to correct and/or eliminate defects.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment as assigned.
  • Maintains various production and quality reports.

You Have

  • Ability to work the following schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4pm
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, Associates in Technology or equivalent
  • Strong Mechanical background with the ability to trouble shoot, use root cause analysis and make suggestions on correcting issues with the machines.
  • Working knowledge of extrusion or blow molding equipment is preferred
  • Hydraulics, pneumatics & electrical mechanical basic knowledge
  • Computer skills, organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation
