As a Behavior Coordinator, you will provide clinical and educational support for individual students, responsible for educational/clinical trainings and measuring individual staff performance and is the chief quality assurance agent of the educational/clinical programs assuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal standards for educational and behavioral services.

‖ Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing training and support to all program staff in the development of functional analysis assessments (FBA) and behavior intervention plans.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the quality of all student academics and behavioral services.
  • Providing training and support to program staff in effective teaching practices, ensuring that students are able to progress in accordance with their individual education plans (IEP).
  • Assessing the professional development needs of program staff; researching, and designing training programs based on those needs.
  • Participating in and supporting ongoing staff development through conferences, trainings, and seminars to maintain and develop core competencies.
  • Leading the training and certification process for program staff in the implementation of CPI principles and providing ongoing coaching and support in their effective utilization.
  • Assisting program director as needed in the hiring, orientation, and training processes for behavioral-based program staff.
  • Researching and making recommendations for the use of evidence-based curriculum that meet the requirements set forth by the Department of Education.
  • Continuously monitoring and developing support systems designed to meet the needs of individual students, classrooms, and the program site as a whole.
  • Attending and participating as requested in all required meetings including but not limited to student progression assessment, parent/teacher, staff development, all staff, etc.
  • Conducting and documenting regular quality assurance checks at the individual student, staff member, classroom and site level, and making recommendations for improvement based on assessment.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all Department of Education regulations, and ChanceLight internal standards.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

‖ Qualifications Required:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Education, Psychology (Behavior Analysis emphasis preferred), or a closely related field.
  • Licensed board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) preferred.
  • Licensed in, or have the ability to obtain a special education certification preferred.
  • Prior experience providing training in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, databased decision making, and functional analysis/behavior intervention plans in an educational setting preferred.
  • Highly skilled in working with individuals with severe learning, emotional and/or behavioral disorders.
  • Prior experience and/or knowledge in working with positive behavior intervention and supports (PBIS).
  • Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
