Northrop Grumman is seeking experienced personnel with P-3 aircraft background to support a contingent maintenance program with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Jacksonville, FL. The CBP P-3 fleet consists of Airborne Early Warning (AEW) and Long Range Tracker (LRT) high-endurance, all-weather, tactical turbo-prop aircraft. The AEW aircraft are utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U.S. border, and in source and transit zone countries. The LRT aircraft are used to intercept, track airborne and surface threats in source and transit zone countries. The P-3 aircraft are equipped with state-of-the-art, highly sophisticated sensor equipment, i.e., radar, electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) detecting systems. Northrop Grumman has an opening for Aircraft Mechanic II A&P to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. These position will be located in Jacksonville, FL with detachment locations both CONUS and internationally. You will troubleshoot, repair and service P-3 aircraft and engine systems. Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions. Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications and engineering instructions. Your Duties include: Maintains and repairs U. S. Customs and Border Protection P-3 aircraft, aircraft systems and components including, but not limited to T-56 engines, 54H60-77 propellers, auxiliary power units, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, oxygen and mechanical components. Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation. Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturer’s manuals / specifications. Work at this level requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of P-3 aircraft propulsion systems / component troubleshooting and repair procedures and replacement of components. Candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of P-3 aircraft fuel systems and repair, with ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems, with the ability to provide technical support to maintenance management, propulsion / airframe engineers and customers. Additional job duties are required but not limited to: Performs corrosion control, preflight and post-flight maintenance inspections, fuel sampling, miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, tow and jack aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, and other tasks as deemed necessary. Could be responsible for providing and receiving guidance and technical expertise to lower and from higher level technicians throughout all aircraft maintenance and/or modification efforts.
