Pensacola, Florida Pediatric Hospitalist Locum Tenens Opportunity

Rhino Medical is seeking Board Certified Pediatric Hospitalists for a locum tenens opportunity in Pensacola, FL. This role provides inpatient pediatric coverage with day shifts and overnight call responsibilities at a well-supported facility offering subspecialty backup.

Opportunity Details:

• Location: Pensacola, FL
• Contract Type: Pediatric Hospitalist Locum Tenens
• Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM + overnight call
• Coverage: 8-15 shifts per month
• Long-term locum need while recruiting permanent providers

Facility Details:

• Hospital Beds: 9
• ICU Beds: 6
• Nursery Level: Level I (NRP attendance at high-risk deliveries)
• EMR System: Meditech
• NICU Coverage: Provided by Intensivists
• Subspecialty Backup: Nemours specialists in cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, ENT, rheumatology, and gastroenterology

Responsibilities:

• Provide pediatric inpatient coverage
• Manage nursery patients and pediatric floor admissions
• Attend high-risk deliveries as needed
• Respond to pediatric codes when in-house
• Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures and incision & drainage

Provider Requirements:

• Board Certified in Pediatrics (MD/DO)
• Active Florida State License & Unrestricted DEA
• Minimum Commitment: 8-15 shifts per month
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• Clean File Preferred for expedited credentialing

Program Details:

• Day Coverage: 1 Pediatric Hospitalist
• Night Coverage: 1 Pediatric Hospitalist (on-call)
• Total Census: 0-15 patients/day
• Admissions per Day: ~40% of census
• Admissions per Night: 0-4
• Total Night Coverage: Nursery (variable) + pediatric floor (9 beds)
• Beeper Call: Yes, with 3-5 call-ins per month
• Credentialing Timeline: ~3 months
• Temp Privileges Available: Possible for providers with a clean file and active license
