Registered Nurse (RN), Inpatient Laboratory
Job Type: Part-time | 4- 8 hour day shifts per week with rotating weekends (Saturdays only)/holidays, and call 

Department/Unit Summary

In this unique role, the nurse provides direct day to day care for patients and families primarily in the outpatient laboratory at the main campus.  Practices to the fullest extent of his/her license in accordance with organizational polices, commonly performing venipunctures, blood collection from ports, nasopharyngeal swabs, and Rh immune globulin injections.  May perform limited inpatient and emergency department collections according to the department needs.  In addition, performs training and competency assessment of other department staff.  Scheduled primarily daylight hours weekdays with rotating weekend coverage.  Other shifts/hours may be required.

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

·         Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

·         3 years Medical/Surgical experience or other comparable nursing experience to be evaluated on an individual basis

·         Previous IV Therapy, Phlebotomy, Medication Port access experience strongly preferred
