Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Mechanical Technician 5 to join their team. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be part of the engineering department supporting the design and testing of industrial machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have creativity, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of engineering principles which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Technician 

Location: Kansas City, KS

Pay Range: Based on experience

What's the Job?

  • Modify, test, and repair machinery and equipment under direction of engineering staff or physical scientists.
  • Prepare parts sketches and write work orders and purchase requests to be furnished by outside contractors.
  • Draft detail drawing or sketch for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by machine, sheet or wood shops.
  • Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives, and test nature of technical problems such as redesign.
  • Inspect lines and figures for clarity and return erroneous drawings to designer for correction.

What's Needed?

  • Associate's degree in engineering technology or related field required.
  • 10+ years’ experience required.
  • Basic ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Basic ability to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field.
