About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Critical Care Medicine for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in Missouri. This 105-day assignment begins on 05/26/2025, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in the CTICU, managing pre/post-operative care, ECMO, and CT surgery patients. The work schedule consists of 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, following a 7-on/7-off rotation. As a locum tenens provider, you will be responsible for both CTICU and floor work, including documentation, patient management, and collaborating with the attending physician present on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Schedule: 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM (12-hour shifts, 7 on/7 off rotation)

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide comprehensive critical care services in the CTICU
• Manage pre and post-operative care for CT surgery patients
• Handle ECMO cases and related procedures
• Perform floor work related to critical care patients
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with attending physicians and hospital staff to ensure high-quality patient care
• Adhere to all hospital protocols and safety standards
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Participate in rounds and patient care discussions
• Stay updated on current critical care practices and procedures

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Missouri
• Proficiency in Epic EMR is required
• Experience in CTICU and managing ECMO patients is essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong clinical decision-making skills and attention to detail
• Flexibility to adapt to varying patient loads and acuity levels
