Overview:

Worlds of Fun is seeking skilled electricians to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the electrical systems throughout the park, including but not limited to lighting, facility electrical systems, and other electrical components as needed. 


Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To install and maintain the electrical components of the park’s rides and equipment including lighting. From blueprints, drawings, models or verbal instructions, performs general electrical work: changing transformers, running conduit, and pulling wire using a variety of hand and power tools and standard measuring instruments. Makes standard shop computations relating to dimension of work. Selects materials necessary for the work.

 

  • Welding and soldering skills preferred for natural transition into the position. 
  • A thorough knowledge of National Electricians’ Code. 
  • Ability to work with varying voltages up to and including 13,000 volts. 
  • Basic analytical skills necessary to organize workload to establish priorities. 
  • Ability to read materials (including blueprints and drawings) to interpret and analyze content. 
  • Ability to write to explain or describe. 
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 75% of work activities. 
  • Requires ability to operate:
  • Standard electrical maintenance equipment and hand tools
  • Vehicles
  • Hydraulic benders
  • Ladders and scaffolding
  • Electrical testing equipment
  • Welding equipment

Qualifications:

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Associate Degree (2-year College or Tech School) 
  • 3 - 5 Years Related Experience 
  • At Least 18 Years of Age 
  • Must be able to work from ladders, lifts, and platforms.
  • Must be able to read electrical schematics, charts, diagrams, and blue prints. Must be able to identify electrical wires by color.
  • Complex Problem Solving   Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work a schedule that include early mornings, nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV,  previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Valid state Driver's License

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
