- Participates in operational tasks such as workflow oversight, process decision making, project implementation, and drug shortage management.
- Ensures and maintains quality control in regards to patient care and medication and equipment usage.
- Reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.
- Advises prescriber of medication related issues and recommends formulary alternatives when appropriate.
- Reviews, interprets, clarifies, enters, and verifies patient's information and medication orders for processing.
- Assists with health-system level decision-making, committee work, and decision making for relevant policies.
- Provides drug information support for pertinent drug information questions.
- Provides management support and demonstrates leadership.
- Manages and coordinates work activities for assigned practice area and provides feedback to staff regarding performance under the direction of the department director.
- Trains and mentors staff and residents and precepts students.
- Participates in interviewing and recommends selection of candidates. Triages issues to management and follows-up.
- Other duties as assigned.
