Position Overview:

As a CSFA, you will play a distinctive role in our surgical team. In addition to your technical skills, we expect you to bring a unique creative perspective to the operating room. Your role goes beyond traditional surgical assisting to introduce solutions and experience to enhance patient outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide traditional surgical assistance, including retracting, suturing, and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Collaborate with surgeons to develop creative solutions to complex surgical challenges.
  • Apply techniques to enhance surgical procedures.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to improve patient care, safety, and outcomes.
  • Stay current with the latest surgical advancements and creative approaches in healthcare.
  • Inspire and mentor colleagues by sharing your creative insights and techniques.
  • Adhere to strict infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.
  • Provide operating room support to physicians and surgeons, including assisting surgeons during procedures and passing require instruments during surgery.
  • Comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Communicates effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staff, patients, and employees. Maintains patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy.
  • Complies with Policies & Procedures and adheres to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment.
  • Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum HS Diploma required 
  • Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Ortho experience preferred. 
  • Proven experience as a Surgical Assistant, with a creative portfolio of surgical accomplishments.
  • Strong technical skills in surgical procedures and instrumentation.
  • Exceptional artistic and creative abilities, with a track record of applying creativity to healthcare.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for innovation and a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic surgical environment.
