JOB SUMMARY: The Certified Nursing Assistant will provide personalized healthcare to residents under the direction of our nursing staff. This position will ensure the comfort and safety of the residents by assisting them in their daily activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.Â
• Recognize and respond to the needs of residents
• Assist in lifting, turning, moving, positioning and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, bathing, feeding, linen changes, incontinence care, etc.
• Observe residents’ conditions, measuring and recording food and liquid intake, output, vital signs, activities of daily living, and report changes to the charge/staff nurse as soon as possible
• Complete appropriate documentation that is organized, clear, complete, current and legible
• Verify the identification of a resident to ensure appropriate care is provided to the correct resident
• Report and record resident’s intake on meal percentage sheets and report to charge nurse intake of less than 25%
• Assist in admitting, transferring and discharging residents
• Participate and assist with recreational and therapeutic activities for residents
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
JOB REQUIREMENTS:Â
• Adhere to and respect all policies regarding resident rights, anonymity, and confidentiality of all resident records past and present
• Follow infectious disease precautions to prevent spread of infections
• Report all complaints and grievances made by residents, families, visitors and agencies to supervisor
• Possess good interpersonal skills while dealing with emotional or difficult situations; respond promptly to customer’s needs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Â
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current state Certified Nursing Assistant license
WORK EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months’ healthcare experience preferred
Required Computer Software/Equipment used:
• Various operating systems
• Standard office equipment
• Standard medical equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:Â Â
• Audio-Visual: Hearing: Good Â
• Ability to lift to 40 pounds
• Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pullingÂ
• Work is typically performed in a standard office environment; well-lit; comfortable temperature-controlled
• Above-average conversational noise is frequent
• Position may require flexible hours, unscheduled overtime or occasional week-end work
• Travel may be required
