Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Onsite - Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the HWS Molding Line and Core Room Production. This includes Core finishers, Truckers, Sand mixers, Assemblers and Machine Operators for these areas.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises the activities and assigns work for up to 28 hourly associates in order to meet E&G requirements.
  • Responsible for the quality and productivity of all cores, molds, and prototypes.  Review and use reports, such as downtime, defect rates, output reports and budget reports as a management tool.  Enforce compliance with quality systems, procedures, and control plans in accordance with department SOP’s.
  • Communicate with supervision of other shifts to ensure unity and clear communications between shifts to include special projects, tests, scheduling priorities, manning issues, best practice experiences and operations problems that occur.
  • Maintain close contact with all support departments to insure that operating materials and services are of top quality and adequate quantity to achieve quality and production requirements.
  • Initiates change of operation notices when required.
  • Coordinates pattern delivery and maintenance with service groups.
  • Administrate all industrial relations, safety, environmental, personnel, divisional and departmental policies and procedures as directed.
  • Audit work methods, employee performance and finished product to evaluate associate performance. Provide guidance and training for employees as necessary.
  • Understand the labor contract as well as enforce policies affecting personnel administration.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.
  • Implement the instructions and requirements for safety, environmental compliance, energy management, and sustainability, and be fully responsible for the environmental, health, and safety requirements and objectives in their area.
  • Responsible for EHS education for new and current workers (including visitors).
  • Responsible for the EHS inspection in their area and maintaining a clean and safe work area.  Creating detailed records, participating in accident investigation, analysis, and implementing preventive measures as needed.

Skills/Requirements

  • The person should have an Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • A minimum of five (5) year supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably a union environment. 
  • The person should have demonstrated leadership abilities, focus on quality, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • The person should be capable of making sound decisions where use of judgment and interpretation of quality standards /customer requirements are needed.
  • Must be able to comprehend complex mechanical and computer driven interfaces.
