Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS), located in Lanham Maryland, specializes in high performance, high reliability avionics and Space Flight subsystems for Aerospace, Defense, Space, Nuclear Defense and Instrumentation applications. ATS' space products have supported more than 28 space missions over a period of 25 years. These missions stretch back to Apollo and the beginning of the US Space Program and include a large diversity of civil and military programs, including notable programs like SBIRS, X-37B, Hubble, Orbital Express, Space Station, Shuttle, Mars Lander, Astronaut EMU Suits and 20 other NASA missions including four of their early small satellites. ATS was one of the first organizations in Northrop Grumman to foresee the potential of evolving Small Satellite technologies for application within the military, civil and commercial space markets. The qualified candidate will perform detailed design of special test equipment and develop testing methods to facilitate electrical tests, system integration, qualification and acceptance test of space electronic products. Design responsibilities include electronic circuit design, mechanical design and development of LabVIEW test software. Responsibilities will also include developing test plans and procedures to assure product conforms to customer requirements; Conducting product qualification, environmental and acceptance level testing; Compiling test data and generation of test reports. NOTE: Some shift work will be required. Basic Qualifications: Principal Engineer: BS in Electrical Engineering or STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience with the development test plans and procedures and design experience; or MS degree with 3 years of exp; or PhD, or 10 years of exp in lieu of degree. Solid multi-disciplined electronics background, in power systems, digital and analog electronics and electronic systems, experience designing electronic circuits and LabVIEW Test Software. Familiarity with bench test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, arbitrary waveform generators, etc.), automated software driven test equipment (LabVIEW) and custom board, box and system level test set design. Familiarity programming and operating thermal chambers. Willingness and ability to work occasional shifts/weekends to cover 24/7 environmental tests. Preferred Qualifications: BS in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred over other STEM degrees Experience with spaceflight electronics Experience in the Aerospace industry.
