The Staff Pad is seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technician to join our client's surgical team in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The Surgical Technician will assist in the care of patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures, and ensure the maintenance of a sterile field. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, anticipate the needs of the surgeon, and provide high-quality patient care during operations.

This is a Monday-Friday daytime position. No call required! 

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assistance: Assist in the care of patients under the direction of an RN, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the surgical procedure.
  • Instrument Handling: Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring they are readily available and properly maintained.
  • Procedure Knowledge: Understand the surgical procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Sterile Field Maintenance: Maintain a vigilant watch over the sterile field, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to provide seamless and effective patient care.
  • Quality Care: Ensure quality patient care during operative procedures, contributing to positive patient outcomes.
  • Documentation: Accurately document surgical procedures and patient information as required.


Requirements

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Graduation from a Certified Surgical Technician program preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of one year of experience as a Surgical Technician, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Licenses/Certificates:
    • Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technician is preferred.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
