The CT Technologist follows physicians' orders, produces CT images per departmental protocol for the use in diagnosing medical problems. This position will provide CT and General Radiology coverage for Urgent Care. This position will also assist in holiday coverage.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet, correctly identifies patient, prepares patient for examination, and explains specific procedures to be performed in appropriate confidential area
- Obtain necessary consents from the patients and verifies required lab values; Initiates, maintains and discontinues IV access
- Accurately maintains patient imaging records, utilizing the radiology information system (R.I.S.) and PACS / Synapse application in accordance to HIPAA, and company guidelines, policies and procedure
- Processes radiologic digital images, examines for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability, and generates additional plans of images as needed for the Radiologist review
- Knowledgeable process for transferring images into the PAC / Synapse computer system (print or tele radiology)
- Prepares copies of images, preliminary reports, and contacts referring physician when required according to established procedures
- Maintains Imaging equipment, work area, and ensures adequate supplies are available, follows all safety standards and uses radiation protection when operating CT equipment
- Assists employees with more complex issues and problems
- May also be assigned to other modalities provided incumbent is certified or licensed in those modalities
- Proven ability to effectively communicate technical procedures and results with patients and providers

Exposure to radiation, risk of exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues. Rotates within Imaging department to include satellite offices; reliable transportation is required. Flexible to work overtime and on call as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- High school education or GED
- Graduate of an approved AMAÂ Radiological Technology program
- Nevada State CT License within 30 days of hire
- Current ARRT(R) certification
- Current ARRT(CT) certification (or the ability to complete successfully within 12 months)
- Current CPR certification
- Advanced knowledge of CT (imaging) equipment, testing and safety hazards related to radiology
- Comprehensive knowledge of CT (imaging) positioning / procedures and diagnosis
- Advanced understanding in the axial, coronal and sagittal planes of CT images
- Proven skilled in properly positioning patients to provide quality imaging
- Proven skilled in starting and stopping IV's (using IV catheters) for contrast injection
- Access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel to client/patient sites within a designated areaÂ

Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour.
