Job Description: MRI Technologist
Location: Las Vegas, New Mexico
Department: Medical Imaging - MRI
Position Overview:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of technical functions primarily in the MRI department. These functions include, but are not limited to, conducting MRI procedures, patient tracking, retrieving prior patient films, assisting Radiologists, and supporting other technologists. This role will also involve interaction with the main Medical Imaging Department, of which MRI is a part. The MRI Technologist may also be required to perform radiology services on-call as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI procedures following established protocols and safety standards.
- Track patients' progress and maintain accurate records.
- Retrieve and review prior patient films to assist in ongoing treatment and diagnosis.
- Assist Radiologists with MRI procedures and ensure that all imaging processes are performed to the highest standards.
- Provide support to other technologists and the broader Medical Imaging Department.
- Participate in on-call radiology services as required.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment is desirable.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Must obtain a New Mexico Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist License within 90 days of hire.
- American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Magnetic Resonance (MR) is required within twelve months from the hire date; registry in MR is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
