The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service, and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.

Hours: This position is full-time (40 hours/week). Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm.  May be asked to float to other practices as needed.

Location: 888 S RANCHO DR, First Floor, Las Vegas, NV 89106 (Radiology office)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers
  • Responsible to greet patient and check patient in and out. Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct in APM and update as necessary 
  • Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to all cash handling policies
  • Schedule appointments as necessary, verifying correct visit type and primary care provider
  • Responsible for waiting room management cleanliness, communicate pertinent information to patients and ensure all patients have been assisted
  • Work with back-office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Resolve service issues and complaints, and defer to appropriate management or clinical personnel when necessary
  • Process incoming films/CD’s and returns. Utilize computer system to track location of film/CD files and documentation. Process release forms and prepare for Loan out. Ensure that all released have a finalized report. Print hard copy digital images and burn CD of digital images for patients or requesting facility. Assist with file room duties as assigned
  • Ensures request for outside images are processed and followed up on in a timely manner
  • Mail out imaging results to providers
  • Rotates within Imaging Departments to include satellite offices, as needed, reliable transportation is required
  • Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas
  • Processing Referrals
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher) 
  • BLS certified (or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting                  
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time with an independent means of transportation during work hours for job related tasks 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance programs and basic managed care principals such as referrals and prior authorization
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing process-related tools such as electronic referral and medical record systems
  • Understanding of insurance programs and basic manage care principals such as referrals
  • Medical terminology, basic knowledge of PACS systems 
  • Understanding of diagnosis coding (CPT/ICD-10) as it relates to referral requirements
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to multi-task 
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette  
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions, along with the ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients and other healthcare staff members
  • Good organizational and telephone etiquette skills  

 

Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
