About The Position

Barton is seeking a skilled Family Practice Physician Assistant for a locum tenens position at a Clinic in California. This 60-day assignment starts on 04/21/2025, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing both chronic and acute conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and infectious diseases. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive medical evaluations, develop treatment plans, and administer preventive care services such as immunizations and health screenings. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for delivering high-quality primary care to a diverse patient population in a clinic setting.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations for patients 

• Develop and implement treatment plans for chronic and acute conditions 

• Manage patients with diabetes, hypertension, and infectious diseases 

• Administer preventive care services, including immunizations and health screenings 

• Perform physical examinations and document patient histories 

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed 

• Prescribe medications and provide patient education 

• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation 

• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care 

• Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures 

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records 

• Provide patient education on disease prevention and health maintenance 

• Stay updated on current best practices in family medicine 

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives 

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant in California 

• Family Practice certification required 

• Experience with Epic EHR system preferred 

• Strong clinical skills in managing chronic and acute conditions 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work independently in a clinic setting 

• Flexibility to adapt to clinic scheduling needs 

• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care 

• Possibility of assignment extension beyond the initial 60 days
