• Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Peds, Some Adults
• Patient Volume: 1214, 30-minute appointments
• Case Mix: Pediatric optometry, including bread-and-butter and high-acuity cases    
• Patients include those with cognitive disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, seizures, and facial abnormalities    
• Some patients are co-managed by other pediatric specialties FACILITY INFORMATION
• EMR System: Epic
• Office Equipment Available: Imaging devices, support staff for diagnostic imaging
• Specialty Backup Available: Ophthalmologists, optometrists, technicians
• Support Staff Available: Technicians, ophthalmologists, optometrists
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Credentialing Timeline: 60-90 days BENEFITS
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Pediatric optometry exams, including strabismus/binocular vision exams
• Contact lens fitting and complex contact lens fitting for pediatric patients
• Comprehensive workups and patient care management JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active CA license
• Board: BC/BE
• DEA: CA DEA with Schedule 2/2n required
• Certifications: BLS required (AHA)
• Experience:   
• Minimum 3 years of pediatric optometry experience required if no pediatric residency   
• Residency in pediatric optometry highly preferred   
• Experience working with complex pediatric populations DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct pediatric optometry exams, including high-acuity cases
• Manage a patient load of 1214 patients per day
• Work in an interdisciplinary setting with ophthalmologists and optometrists
• Perform comprehensive workups and patient care
• Utilize imaging technology and coordinate diagnostic imaging with support staff
• Work with pediatric patients of all cognitive abilities, including those on the autism spectrum, with seizures, and facial abnormalities
• Optional: Participate in teaching or resident training if interested
