About The Position

We are seeking an experienced OB/GYN physician for a locum tenens position at a hospital in California. This 84-day assignment begins on 07/03/2025, primarily covering weekend call from Thursday to Monday, with 24-hour shifts from 8am to 8am. The role may include a 6-hour clinic day on Saturdays. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing c-sections, high-risk cases, triage, and various gynecological cases. This facility also utilizes the Cerner EMR system.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for obstetric and gynecological emergencies 

• Perform c-sections and manage high-risk pregnancies 

• Handle triage for obstetric and gynecological patients 

• Manage various gynecological cases and procedures 

• Conduct outpatient clinic visits as needed 

• Collaborate with certified midwife and other healthcare professionals 

• Utilize Cerner electronic health record system for patient documentation 

• Ensure proper patient care and follow-up 

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff 

• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures 

• Participate in any necessary staff meetings or case conferences

Additional Information: 

• California medical license required 

• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology preferred 

• Experience in managing high-risk obstetric cases essential 

• Strong surgical skills for c-sections and gynecological procedures 

• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in emergency situations 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
