About The Position
Barton Associates is seeking an experienced Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 39-day locum tenens position at a clinic in California. Starting on 04/08/2025, this assignment offers a flexible schedule of three 6-hour shifts per week, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with a one-hour closure from 1 PM to 2 PM daily. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with both occupational medicine and family medicine, providing care for school district employees. This role utilizes the eClinicalWorks electronic health record system and offers the potential for extension beyond the initial 39-day period.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide occupational medicine services to school district employees
- Conduct pre-employment physicals and fitness-for-duty evaluations
- Perform work-related injury evaluations and treatment
- Manage workers' compensation cases
- Deliver family medicine services as needed
- Conduct health screenings and preventive care examinations
- Diagnose and treat common illnesses and injuries
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using eClinicalWorks EHR
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols
- Stay current with best practices in occupational and family medicine
- Provide patient education on workplace health and safety
Additional Information:
- California nurse practitioner license required
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing preferred
- Experience in occupational medicine and family practice essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Comfortable with a diverse patient population of school district employees
- Flexibility to work three 6-hour shifts per week
- Potential for assignment extension
