About The Position

A hospital in California is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner specializing in Occupational Medicine for a 32-day locum tenens assignment. Starting on 05/05/2025, this role offers a 4-day work week, with shifts from 8am to 4:30pm. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a diverse patient load, including workers' compensation cases and DOT physicals. With approximately 12 patients per shift, the NP will work alongside a Medical Assistant who handles TB testing and vaccinations. This opportunity may also extend beyond the initial assignment period. 


Job Details:

Provider Type Needed: Nurse Practitioner - Occupational Medicine

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8am-4:30pm


Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Conduct occupational medicine assessments and treatments 

• Perform DOT physicals (30, 45, or 60 minutes in duration) 

• Manage workers' compensation cases (approximately 15-minute assessments) 

• Order and sign off on TB testing and vaccinations 

• Utilize CPSI electronic health record system 

• Collaborate with Medical Assistants and other healthcare professionals 

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records 

• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures 

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care


Additional Information: 

• 40-50% of patients are workers' compensation cases 

• California state license required 

• Potential for assignment extension
